General Info
East of Gunnison and northeast of Parlin on county road 76, the Opportunity Mine is in this area. Mitchell mentions this area on page 122 of his book.

Minerals Beryl
- Some of the Quartz Creek pegmatites have blue beryl. The Opportunity Mine has one inch green beryl crystals in cleavlandite.
Lepidolite
- Lilac colored.
Tourmaline
- Thin prisms of black tourmaline in a white quartz matrix can be found at the Opportunity Mine and other mines in the area. Long prisms of opaque green and pink elbaite tourmaline are found at the Brown Derby Mine.
