General Info
Around 600 mines, from small prospects to major producers, are found in the Idaho Springs-Georgetown-Silver Plume areas of Clear Creek county. There are mine tours and museums in Idaho Springs, and the Colorado School of Mines has a research/rescue facility at the Edgar Mine.

Some rusting mining equipment in Idaho Springs.
The old Argo Mill in Idaho Springs. Much of the ore that was mined in the area was brought to this site for milling in the old days.
A mine dump on the southwest end of Idaho Springs. A snow-covered peak can also been seen on the right.
On the south side of Idaho Springs, the remnants of the Stanley Mine Co. can be seen.
