General Info Around 600 mines, from small prospects to major producers, are found in the Idaho Springs-Georgetown-Silver Plume areas of Clear Creek county. There are mine tours and museums in Idaho Springs, and the Colorado School of Mines has a research/rescue facility at the Edgar Mine.
