There are many gold, silver, zinc and lead mines in this historic mining district. Collecting can be strenuous at this elevation, which is higher than 10,000 ft. Also, visit the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, the Heritage Museum, the Mining Gallery and the Rock Hut (mineral shops).
