General Info

Eight miles west of Wolf Creek Pass, this location contains agate and geodes in the volcanic cliffs. Heavy duty digging may be necessary to free these treasures. Since this location is immediately next to the highway, it is too dangerous for kids and pets.

Minerals

Agate - Solid nodules up to 5 inches are made up of banded agate. The bands may be white to light blue in color.

Geodes - Nodules up to 5 inches have clear quartz or pale amethyst crystals inside. They may also contain white natrolite crystals.
