Apex Meteorite (L6)

Apex was found in 1938 by Robert Akerley at the mouth of Apex Gulch, north of Morrison, Jefferson, County, Colorado. Mr. Akerley found it while investigating an ancient Native American camp site. Apex is an L6 olivine-hypersthene chondrite and weighs approximately 6.1 kg. The Meteorical Bulletin says that the meteorite resides in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
