Armel Meteorite (L5)

Armel was plowed up in a farmer's field in 1967 near the town of Armel in Yuma County, Colorado, just a few miles from the Kansas border. It is an L5 ordinary chondrite and weighed 9.2 kg. The Handbook of Colorado Meteorites mentions that another piece was found in 1978 and donated to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It weighed 2.78 kg, for a total of 11.98 kg.
