After meeting everyone in the parking lot of the Spruce Grove campground near Tarryall Colorado, small groups of us started the trek up the long and often steep trail to the digging area where our leader was going to take us.
Looking for a place to dig A great view of the granite valleys
While we started looking for the best places to dig, Sarah decided to climb a tree. A great view of the granite valleys. The mountains here are composed of granite and often have pegmatites.


Luxury camping Thistle by the river
After a disappointing first day of digging, we saw this camper in the campground parking lot. We gotta get one of these for our club! Close up picture of a thistle. This was just a few feet from the small river that ran through the campground.
