Eldon and I went back to the area where our club had gone 2 weeks ago. Despite hours of digging, we didn't find any new pockets, but...
... we found one crystal in someone's old hole. What luck!!! It was muddy but obvious. Here I am with it in my hand.
This is a close-up view of the clear topaz.
Eldon frantically looking for a topaz crystal.
Another view of the topaz crystal. It measures 3.8cm x 2.3cm x 1.8cm and weighs 30.4 grams. That's 152 carats!!!
Make sure you have plenty of water and mosquito repellent on this trip because the hike is long and somewhat difficult and the mosquitos will kill you if you don't have a campfire in the early evenings.
